Bice & Birch grew from a shared belief that good design should be both inspiring and functional, creating original homes that combine beauty with comfort and a sense of effortless living.

Having worked on our own residential projects, we quickly realised that we could marry our skills and creativity to design spaces to delight those who inhabit them.

SARAH BICE
Sarah has many years experience working in the design industry as a graphic designer, working in both editorial design and retail branding. After renovating homes in North London and Sydney’s Inner West, Sarah’s love for interior architecture, furniture and the art of reimagining spaces led her into the world of interior design—and eventually to work as a kitchen designer. At the heart of her design process lies a balance between functional practicality and efficiency, and a commitment to elegance, beauty and comfort. Sarah believes that a home is for the people who live in it and she loves creating spaces that answer the needs of its owners, whilst elevating the quality of their experience of their home.

HUMA QURESHI
Huma is the award-winning author of four critically-acclaimed books, but she’s loved interiors for as long as she’s loved words, ever since she was a little girl with a dolls’ house. She’s decorated family homes in London and Italy and has an eye for turning neglected spaces into beloved homes infused with warmth, creativity and a sense of story about the people who live there. In fact, to Huma, interior design is another form of story-telling, as much as her books are. Huma has experience in lifestyle and interiors editorial from her time as a features journalist for The Guardian and she holds a certification in residential interior design from the KLC School of Design. Her personal interior projects have been featured in The Observer, House Beautiful, The New York Times, House & Garden and Elle Decoration. The ‘Birch’ in Bice & Birch refers to Huma’s children’s surname.
